My Nani- My Granee-meri Nani

I was born and brought up in Bihar,Patna.Patliputra :The capital of India in the golden era of history.
I am starting this journey of writing about all Indian festivals. As I started understanding things this was the first festival after Diwali which crossed my mind ever and always.."Chhath Puja" is one of few things which I remember strongly since my childhood....this used to take place at my Nani ghar Chapra(Granee place).I am starting my journey through the introduction of this very special and unique festival celebration "Chhath Puja".Writing about this crossed my mind because of my "Nani" whose special affection for me was recognised by me at the very early stage of my childhood.I will like to dedicate this writing to my Nani who was the first and foremost important person in my life.Although she did not like girls much but she had got special affection for me... may be because I was born at her place Chapra (a little town/district in the north of Bihar).
All my childhood memories with her aura trigger my mind whenever I enter a Ram mandir, any ramayan chaupayi cross my ears or smell the fragrance of tulasi dal or eat lachi dana(small sugar balls) as prasad.I remember her always doing puja, reading ramayan chaupayee or attending a satsang(Spiritual discourse, sacred gathering) in temple.
